Swimming with big animals can be a blast and the goal of many underwater enthusiasts, but a touch of reality is in order.   Big animals, and especially big sharks, have the ability to inflict serious injury and death.  Make no mistake, they do not want to be friends.  Every shark accident carries heavy consequences that extend beyond the immediate victim by reinforcing the bad shark image.  There are a number of rules that should be followed when interacting with such animals to ensure the safety of both man and beast.  These rules are best learned through years of in-water experience and are beyond the scope of this site.  By entering the water with large sharks, you are solely responsible for your own safety.

If in doubt, don't go out.
